Cone Health has opened a new medical facility in rural Rockingham County, aiming to expand access to care in Eden.

Roughly 40 miles north of Greensboro, Eden is a small former textile town of about 15,000. The new Cone location will provide a host of services, including orthopedic care, imaging, and a full-service pharmacy in one location. Some of those offerings are already being provided locally.

Wellness Solutions Executive Director Jamie Athas says many rural communities across the state need to bring services closer to where people live, work and play.

"Especially around health and well-being services close to where their families are, where they live," she says. "And so Cone Health is really committed to making sure that we reduce barriers to care, we create additional access points, especially for our rural communities."

Cone’s new OrthoCare Eden, Outpatient Rehabilitation, Community Pharmacy, and Sagewell Health & Fitness are all located under one roof on Van Buren Road.
