Winston-Salem's A Blessing Connection Center will host a vaccine clinic

On Wednesday, a Winston-Salem-based nonprofit is offering free flu and COVID-19 vaccines to residents as the holiday season nears.

The volunteer-run A Blessing Connection Center was founded as a food pantry in 2022.

The center’s director, Angelica Espinal, said flu shots will be available to anyone. COVID-19 vaccines, which can cost upwards of $60 per dose, will be given only to uninsured individuals.

"We get a lot of that, 'well what if we get sick after we get the vaccine?' and you know, some people do, some people don’t," Espinal said. "We wanted to do it this week, that way next week it’s not something that they have to worry about and they’ll get to enjoy the holidays with their family."

The clinic will take place between 5 and 7 p.m. at 4456 Old Walkertown Road. The vaccines are being made available with help from the Forsyth County Hispanic Liaison Team and the Department of Public Health.
