Wildfire in Stokes County leads to evacuations

In Stokes County, a wildfire has led to evacuation plans for some residents.

The fire on Sauratown Mountain began Saturday evening. Firefighters from area departments have made their way to the scene, including units from King, Middle Springs, and Double Creek. Forestry aircraft is also being used to help put out the blaze.

According to FOX8, as of Sunday afternoon, no injuries have been reported, but as the fire burns, structures may be threatened.

The Pinnacle Fire Department posted on social media that people who are not nearby residents should avoid the area in order to keep roads clear for fire crews.
