Originally announced in 2018, Publix Super Markets, Inc. is building a refrigerated distribution hub in Guilford County. The project should be completed by the end of 2022.

It's part of a multiphase plan — one that could create up to 1,000 jobs. The company is expected to invest between $300 and $400 million into the hub.

According to the News & Record, the site's proximity to major interstates, and the Greensboro Urban Loop, helped Publix make the decision to build in Guilford.

The hub will be one of the largest distribution centers in the Piedmont Triad, located on 350 acres just to the east of Greensboro.
