Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump addressed a packed house Tuesday at High Point University, in the first of two North Carolina stops. Trump spoke to a young crowd, primarily on immigration and jobs.

And it was a short speech, by campaign standards – just under 30 minutes. Trump opened by referencing the recent attacks in New York, New Jersey, and Minnesota. Hes says the attacks are the result of an open immigration policy.

He criticized his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton's stance on refugees, saying “immigration security is national security.”

Trump also took on the economy, promising to re-work NAFTA, and claiming the Trans-Pacific Partnership would be a disaster.

“We're going to turn it all around. My economic agenda can be summed up in three beautiful words. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs.”

Trump and Clinton have been running a tight race in North Carolina, which is a key battleground state. The Republican nominee stumped later in the day in Kenansville, North Carolina.
