Ever wonder what a Christmas in Ireland would be like? Well, on Wednesday, November 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Wait Chapel on the WFU campus, you can find out. The SECREST Artists Series is bringing Danu to the Triad. The award-winning traditional Irish band brings you all of the energy and beauty of the Emerald Isle with flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion, and bouzouki. There'll be local Irish Celtic Dancing as well. Danu's fusion of the classic Irish culture and contemporary influences has thrilled standing room only audiences in Europe, North America, and the Middle East, and their popular recordings are available on the Shanachi label.

The First House Concert for Habitat: A Black Friday Antidote,” will be held at Community Arts Café at 411 West Fourth Street, featuring an evening of Jazz artistry with the Cle Thompson Trio, and the Piedmont Jazz Composers Collective. Doors open at 7 p.m., and music begins at 7:30.
The suggested donation for admission is $15. You can also purchase food and drinks from the café and bar. The concert will benefit Habitat Forsyth's Neighborhood Revitalization effort, a sustainable approach to transforming neighborhoods.

University of NC School of the Arts professor Kenneth Frazelle has composed music for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Yo-Yo Ma, Renee Flemming and Bill T. Jones just to name a few. The Columbus and North Carolina Symphonies will be performing Ken's works later this season and next, and coming up this spring at SECREST performance series, Strata will premiere a new work of Ken's titled “A Book of Days” for violin, clarinet, and piano based on passages from the Wake Forest University alumnus A. R. Ammons.
