Mount Tabor High School shooter pleads guilty, sentenced to more than 20 years

The teenager who fatally shot a classmate at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem in 2021 pled guilty today. 

According to FOX 8, Maurice Evans Jr. was sentenced by a judge to 22.5 years in prison. 

Evans shot and killed William Chavis Raynard Miller Jr. on Sept. 1, 2021, on school campus. Miller died from his injuries that day in the hospital.

Both students were 15 years old at the time. Evans was charged with one count of murder and tried as an adult.
