Two Triad cities are among eight locations where rallies are planned for Tuesday over the death of Andrew Brown Jr., who was shot to death by deputies in Elizabeth City in April.

The places where the rallies are scheduled stretch from Asheville to Elizabeth City, with Winston-Salem and Greensboro included.

They're being planned by Repairers of the Breach, the North Carolina Council of Churches, and an organization called B.R.I.D.G.E. The groups say they want more accountability in the case.

Protesters say that the unarmed Brown was unjustly killed while sheriff's deputies tried to serve drug-related warrants.

A prosecutor has cleared the Pasquotank deputies, saying that Brown used his vehicle as a weapon.

Marchers have been in the streets of Elizabeth City almost nightly since he was killed more than a month ago, and protesters in other North Carolina cities have also demanded justice in the case.
