A superior court judge has ordered the release of body-camera footage taken when police responded to a call at the home of Greensboro City Manager Taiwo Jaiyeoba in December.

Judge Allen Baddour ordered police to release the footage following a hearing Monday, according to the Greensboro News and Record.

Some of the footage can be blurred and muted to protect a minor in the video. The newspaper had requested the release, while city officials opposed it.

A police report from the December 28, 2023 incident said three family members, including Jaiyeoba, were victims of assault.

Greensboro's City Council had previously viewed the footage but it was not made public at that point.

After their review, the council concluded the incident was "thoroughly investigated" and that the city manager "did not receive preferential treatment."

City officials say police and the district attorney's office have decided criminal charges aren't warranted.
