Interim chancellor announced for Appalachian State University

An interim chancellor for Appalachian State University was announced today following the resignation of Sheri Everts earlier this week.

App State’s Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Heather Norris will take on the role. She’s been at the university for more than two decades, starting as an assistant professor in 2003.

In a press release, Norris called App State her home.

"I look forward to working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students and members of the communities we serve to ensure the continued success of this great institution," Norris said.

University officials say the search for a permanent chancellor will be launched in the near future.
