The Interactive Resource Center in Greensboro has appointed Bennita Curtain as its new executive director. The day center, which provides services for people experiencing homelessness, announced the leadership change this week.

Curtain has served as the interim director since November, after the resignation of Kristina Singleton. She took the reins shortly after the center ended its 24/7 model, which had drawn scrutiny from residents and local officials due to safety concerns.

According to police records, 911 calls to the IRC declined from 301 in March of 2024 to 35 in March of this year.

Curtain is the fourth executive director since the IRC opened in 2009.
