Greensboro Bound is hosting its annual book festival Saturday.

The literary nonprofit is inviting people downtown to celebrate books and authors with a diverse array of guests. Panels will be hosted throughout the day at the Greensboro History Museum, the Greensboro Public Library, the Greenhill Center for NC Art and the Van Dyke Performance Space.

Conversation topics this year will range from a children's book on beekeeping to how North Carolina became a purple state politically.

Greensboro Bound Festival Coordinator Angel Rippy says the goal is to spark discussion among attendees.

"The way that we structure our sessions is less about, you know, an author talking about their book and taking questions, and more about a conversation about a subject that we feel is important and that their books cover," Rippy says.

The festival will also include several writer workshops. Panels will run from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
