A Superior Court judge has granted a request from the Greensboro Police Department to release body-worn camera video of a fatal shooting involving Officer John Corrigan.

The incident occurred in June of last year when Corrigan responded to Tuscaloosa Street on report of a suspicious vehicle and fatally shot a man identified as 51-year-old Graham Roberson.

Greensboro police requested the release of the body camera footage after the Guilford County District Attorney’s Office announced in February it would not seek charges.

According to authorities, Corrigan saw Roberson walking in the street. Roberson then displayed what appeared to be a firearm as he approached.

Corrigan was placed on administrative duty last summer and returned to regular duty after the District Attorney’s decision.

Video footage from the incident is expected to be released to the community within 21 days of March 25.
