A Greensboro city council member is the subject of a probe by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
NCSBI spokesperson Chad Flowers confirmed Thursday that the agency began its investigation late last week following a referral from the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
Flowers declined to name the council member and did not provide details about the nature of the case.
The news comes one day after Greensboro City Attorney Chuck Watts abruptly resigned.
More information is expected to be released as the case develops.
