Purple Crow celebrates grand opening of new Winston-Salem headquarters

East Coast Hispanic grocery supplier Purple Crow, which distributes food products to ten states, is now based in Whitaker Park.

As reported by WFDD in 2023, the city of Winston-Salem awarded the business an incentive package to expand its headquarters.

Purple Crow says hundreds of jobs will be created, with an average salary of $72,000 per year.

The site is a former R.J. Reynolds Tobacco plant. Reynolds American executives presented the new occupants with the original shovel used to break ground on the facility in 1958.

Eddie Garcia is WFDD’s News Director. He is responsible for planning coverage, editing stories, and leading an award-winning news team as it serves the station’s 32-county listening area. He joined WFDD as an audio production intern in 2007 and went on to hold various roles, including producer, Triad Arts Weekend co-host, reporter, and managing editor. When he’s not working, Eddie enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, and watching films.
