Greensboro is plowing roads and updating transit schedules in response to winter weather

After a few inches of snow fell across the Piedmont, the city of Greensboro is providing some updates on its services and how the winter weather is impacting them.

According to a press release, the city has deployed snow removal crews and has made progress on primary and secondary roads. Residential roads are to be plowed next.

Residual moisture after plowing could create black ice overnight, so drivers are being asked to take caution. The city of Greensboro has a snow removal map that is updated hourly and can be accessed here.

Peeler Recreation Center and Glenwood Recreation Center will be open today until 5 p.m., while all other rec centers are closed. Regional parks, lakes, trails, gardens, cemeteries, and the Gillespie Golf Course will also remain closed.

As for public transportation, Greensboro Transit Agency and Access GSO services will operate along designated snow routes through 9 p.m. Saturday. Sunday operations will run from noon to 9 p.m.
