Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools to host hiring events this week

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools is hosting two hiring events this week in an effort to be fully staffed for the start of the new academic year.

The first event is an Operations Career Fair, which will be held at the Griffith Elementary School gym from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday. Attendees will be able to meet with hiring managers from departments including child nutrition, maintenance and transportation.

As of June 25, the district has 168 vacancies in those areas — the majority of which are for bus drivers and kitchen assistants.

The district also has 185 vacancies for classroom teachers. The second hiring event, which will be held on Thursday, is a webinar geared toward filling those positions. Officials will talk about how to earn a North Carolina Educator License, and alternative pathways to the profession.

Those interested in attending either event can register and upload resumes on the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools website.
