GSO City Council issues statement after reviewing body camera footage from city manager's home

Greensboro’s City Council has reviewed the police body camera footage related to a domestic disturbance reported at the home of City Manager Taiwo Jaiyeoba last December.

In a statement, the Council said they have concluded that the incident was “thoroughly investigated” and that the city manager “did not receive preferential treatment.”

The police report from the December 28, 2023, incident said that three family members including Jaiyeoba were victims of assault. The statement says the body camera video shows that Jaiyeoba was the only person with a visible injury. The footage has not been released publicly.

The Council said the Greensboro Police Department and District Attorney’s office have decided criminal charges aren’t warranted in the case.
