Triad cities are hosting several events in the coming days to recognize the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

At 9 a.m. on Saturday, the City of Greensboro is hosting a memorial stair climb at the Eugene Parking Deck. Participants are invited to climb the stairs there 11 times, representing the 73 flights of stairs New York City firefighters climbed on 9/11.

First responders will participate in a similar event at Truist Point on Monday, with members of the public also invited to join them. The memorial, sponsored by the High Point Fire and Police Departments, begins at 6:30 a.m.

Also on Monday, the Asheboro Public Library will host history teacher Clyde Ward. He’ll speak on the historical significance of the day’s events in a presentation aimed at teenagers at 4 p.m.

All events are free and open to the public.
