Greensboro 'Tribute to Women' seeking nominations

An exhibit in Greensboro that honors women will soon be recognizing additional community members who have made notable contributions to the city.

The city’s Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is seeking nominations for the next individuals to highlight. CSW is doing this in conjunction with Greensboro’s Parks and Recreation department.

The Ruth Wicker Tribute to Women exhibition, which launched in 2019, is located in the Barber Park Event Center. According to the city’s website, it's the first of its kind in the state, and there are few others like it across the country.

An online application is now available for community members to make their suggestions.

It’s recommended that nominees demonstrate dedication, achievement, and inspire others. All ages and occupations are eligible.

The city does ask that people not nominate themselves.

Applications close on January 2, 2023.
