Tasha Logan Ford is poised to make history as High Point's new city manager.

Ford has been an assistant city manager in Winston-Salem since 2018. She's scheduled to take over High Point's top management post in July.

She'll be the first woman and first Black city manager in High Point's history.

The High Point City Council unanimously approved of hiring Ford during a meeting this week following a national search. Ford went to undergraduate school at UNC Greensboro and has a Master's in Public Administration from North Carolina State University.

The position has been open for almost a year. Former manager Greg Demko left last May after five years on the job.
