North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has experienced back-to-back record-breaking student enrollment. The rising numbers reflect a growing trend among historically Black colleges and universities nationwide while elsewhere undergraduate enrollments have declined during the pandemic.
Some historically Black colleges and universities have seen increases in application and enrollment numbers after years of decline.
"We have to show that we are not afraid," Dillard University President Walter Kimbrough says. The FBI is probing the threats as racially or ethnically motivated violent extremism and hate crimes.
"HBCUs are resilient institutions that will persist through all forms of adversity," the Congressional Bipartisan HBCU Caucus said after bomb threats earlier this month.
