Community Co-op

The city council approved forgiving a $157,000 lien on a property, giving a local housing advocacy group the go-ahead to start what they say could be the first cooperative community of its kind in the city.

The Winston-Salem-based housing rights group looks to create a co-op that would allow residents to collectively own a downtown property.
