Molly Davis joined 88.5 WFDD in January of 2005. She is a Winston-Salem native and a graduate of Davidson College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Molly has twenty-plus years of experience in marketing, public and media relations, event planning, and nonprofit management, and began her career with Borders Books Music and Café, where she coordinated nationwide store grand opening events. In the late ‘90s, she served as Marketing Director for Winston-Salem Events. The nonprofit outdoor music series was a forerunner in the downtown redevelopment efforts, and made enormous strides in bringing the public back to downtown Winston-Salem to live and play.
A lifelong public radio fan, WFDD was Molly's first job in radio. She started her career at the station as Membership Marketing Coordinator, and gradually took on additional responsibilities, eventually rising to the position of Assistant General Manager in 2015. Molly has been invited to present at the national Public Media Development and Marketing Conference on multiple occasions, and has mentored other stations on compliance matters and development and listener engagement strategies. Molly is a staunch believer in public radio's ability to foster civil discourse, develop awareness of different perspectives, and connect listeners to their communities.
Molly's past community service includes the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Centers for Exceptional Children, the Board of Directors for Creative Corridors Coalition, the Parents’ Council for the Creative Learning Center for Very Young Children, and Piedmont Environmental Alliance's Marketing Task Force. She is an avid runner and a former yoga instructor.
