Reynolds American Inc. will acquire Lorillard Inc. in a cash-and-stock deal valued at $27.4 billion.

If the merger closes next year, Reynolds American will acquire Lorillard’s flagship brand Newport as part of a plan to strengthen the Winston-Salem based company. But as the smoke begins to clear on the acquisition deal between the two tobacco companies, many questions remained unanswered like what happens to all of the jobs, especially in Greensboro.

A group of reporters from the Triad Business Journal are digging deeper to find out what the terms of the deal really mean and what happens next. In this week’s Business Journal, WFDD’s Keri Brown talks with Mark Sutter, the editor of the Triad Business Journal. Sutter explains what you need to know about the merger.
