LEILA FADEL, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Leila Fadel. Kansas City's newest streetcar design is simply Kenough. It features a hot-pink wrap and colorful Barbie-ish themed seats. But unlike other streetcars that are often sponsored by local organizations and businesses, KC's Dream Streetcar cost taxpayers nearly $25,000 because it isn't an official ad for the film. Riders in Kansas City can experience the fare-free Dream Streetcar for another six weeks. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
