The Asheville-based funk/rock/reggae band The Get Right Band is guitarist singer Silas Durocher, his longtime bassist pal Jesse Gentry, and drummer Chris Pyle. The Get Right Band is getting ready to release a new album, and this month their release tour will take them through Chapel Hill, Charlotte and Asheville. The album is Bass Treble Angel Devil and we're sampling from it right now. Earlier this year David Ford caught up with the band huddled around their cell phone on St. Thomas Island in the Caribbean.

You can hear the band live at their CD release party in Chapel Hill at Local 506 on Wednesday night, August 13 at 9 pm. Cover is just 5 bucks.  The Alternate Root Magazine calls Get Right “hip-shaking, earthquaking pure funk fun” and The Grateful Web lauded the band's “dark lyrical humor” and “prodigious individual talents,” adding: “they know how to throw a party!”
