(SOUNDBITE OF FRANK SINATRA SONG, "JINGLE BELLS")

LEILA FADEL, HOST:

Good morning, I'm Leila Fadel.

It's that time of year when Christmas tunes climb the charts, and this week saw crooner Frank Sinatra make the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in 56 years.

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "JINGLE BELLS")

FRANK SINATRA: (Singing) Jingle bells, jingle bells...

FADEL: Sinatra's 1948 rendition of "Jingle Bells" jingled all the way to a top 20 spot. The last time the crooner made it so high was in 1967, when he sang "Somethin' Stupid" with his daughter, Nancy.

It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
