Get ready for a new type of summer camp: one where it doesn’t matter what you’re wearing, if you decided not to shower that day (although we really hope you do!), or what time you decided to wake up. This camp takes place at HOME.
That’s right, at WFDD’s Virtual Radio Camp, you will be able to learn how to record sound, edit stories, create your own newscasts, and possibly start your own podcast without leaving the comfort of your house. All you need is access to a computer that is connected to the internet and your phone.
This is how it works:
Every day, for five days, we will post a new video lesson and an activity (or two). You will then have the entire day to work on it and, in order to get credit, you’ll need to submit your final work before midnight. You will then have an entire week to work on and submit your final project: A 3-minute fully produced audio story. If your story is good, it’ll air on 88.5 WFDD!
The price for Virtual Radio Camp is $75. This helps us pay for the materials and platform needed to get this off the ground. But we know that many in our community are experiencing a financial strain right now, so in recognition of that, we invite you to ‘pay what you can.’ If you’re able to pay the full amount or, even a little bit more, know that you’ll be helping fund this offering for others in our community who aren’t able to bear the full amount right now.
