Oxford research has found conspiracy theories about the virus gaining ground.

The U.K. program pays people idled by the COVID-19 pandemic up to around $3,088 a month. Some 7.5 million jobs have been furloughed.

Boris Johnson has ordered that people stay in their homes, aside from four exemptions. Only essential businesses will be allowed to stay open and the police will be empowered to enforce the measures.

The government ordered establishments to close Friday night and announced wage relief for furloughed workers.
