<p>In a Facebook post, he thanked his constituents for the opportunity to serve them and said he was proud of the work he's been involved with in the city during his term.</p>
<p>Fox didn't say why he decided not to run again. But in his social media post, he says "I will be supporting a candidate in the very near future who I believe will and can keep us on the right path to greater opportunities."</p>
<p>Fox studied political science at North Carolina A&amp;T State University.</p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.greensboro.com/news/government/greensboro-councilman-jamal-fox-not-running-for-re-election/article_a02a9ece-93fd-5370-9b5a-177fe95564a1.html" target="_blank">News and Record</a> reports that at 25, he became the youngest person ever elected to Greensboro City Council when he edged out a two-term incumbent in 2013.</p>
