The 3rd annual R&B Soul Picnic returns to High Point this weekend. Multi-platinum R&B recording artist Jon B. headlines this year’s event. He’ll perform live on the outdoor stage at Oak Hollow Festival Park.

Local DJs will accompany dancers by the lake with nine hours of classic soul, neo-soul and more. Visit High Point’s Dana East says the touring festival began during the pandemic as a way for people to come together after months of isolation.

"The purpose of this event really is a soul healing festival," says East. "I think we all go through things each day, we all have our families and our jobs, and this is the day that you can just come out, relax, bring your blanket, your chair, look at the lake, eat good food, and just listen to some really good music, and in High Point, we get a treat."

There will be live yoga, healing speakers, games for children and more. The day-long event is a partnership between York Promotions and Visit High Point.
