Photo courtesy: Diarra Leggett</figcaption></figure><p>The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a public information session in Kernersville on Thursday. </p><p>Community members can ask questions, share concerns and meet staff at the Paddison Memorial Branch Library at 6 p.m.</p><p>Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough will discuss the department’s day-to-day operations and introduce new technology.</p><p>In terms of newer technology, automated license plate readers or ALPRs aren’t on an official agenda. But law enforcement has been at the center of debate in recent weeks.</p><p>Many argue the camera systems violate privacy and civil liberties.</p><p>The Winston-Salem Police Department recently released a public statement on the matter, saying it uses ALPRs from the companies Verkada and Axon. Authorities note they’ve helped with criminal investigations.</p><p>The Sheriff’s Office will also hold another information session in Rural Hall next month.</p>]]></content:encoded>
