The bond issues in Winston-Salem won handily in yesterday's election. City voters approved all five by margins ranging from 30 to 40 per cent.

The bond proposals cover street re-paving and widening, child pedestrian safety projects, renovation of the public safety center and addition of a crime lab. They also will fund various park and recreation improvements including water spraygrounds for multiple parks. The economic development bonds cover development or redevelopment of business parks. The smallest of the bond proposals will be used for housing development in needy neighborhoods.
