One of the largest holiday light shows in the state is about to get underway.

Since 1992, the Tanglewood Park Festival of Lights in Clemmons has been delighting visitors with its glowing displays. The holiday light show is one of the state’s largest displays, with more than 83 illuminations--containing more than 1-million bulbs.

Jazmine Kilpatrick is the marketing & events manager with Forsyth County Parks and Recreation. She says this year visitors will get to experience some new attractions along the four mile route.

“We have a skate land display that has different skating figures and other attractions. We will have a dining experience at the gift village area," says Kilpatrick.

Kilpatrick added, "We contracted with a company called Bullsheads Brands and we will have picnic tables out there. They will have stews, barbecue sandwiches and corn, so it will be a great way for families to get together and come have dinner at the Festival of Lights.”

The average attendance for the drive-through light show in Tanglewood Park is around a quarter of a million people.

Kilpatrick says over the past few seasons, park officials have been converting to brighter LED lights for the displays. She says that project is expected to be complete in 2016.

The festival of lights will kick off November 23 and run through January 1. Visitors can view the light displays from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m.
