Sold-Out Shows Marked 2015 RiverRun Film Festival
The RiverRun International Film Festival has put the wraps on another year in Winston-Salem. This year’s festival was a day longer and had more films than in years past.
In 2014, there were almost 15,000 admissions to the festival’s films, panels and parties. This year’s numbers aren’t in yet. But Andrew Rodgers, the executive director of the festival, is optimistic this year’s attendance will be even higher.
“We had really, really solid attendance at matinee screenings. We had lots of sold-out shows – we always do but I felt like this year it was a lot more. The audience feedback we got was really strong, and we didn’t have any poorly attended events. We had really strong attendance across the festival.”
Rodgers says for the next few months he and the RiverRun staff and supporters will go over this year’s results to see what worked and what needs to be improved.
He says one thing he’d like to see is more of a year-round effort to provide more services to filmmakers.
