Two possibly linked shootings that began at a Winston-Salem park Sunday night left seven people wounded, police say.

Police believe the shootings started at Fairview Park, where more than 50 rounds were fired from multiple guns. A second exchange of gunfire occurred a short time later on East 25th Street.

The first two victims were hit by gunfire from the Fairview Park area, and the other five from the 25th St. shooting.

Police say the first two victims were found in a car on U.S. 52 just north of downtown shortly before 8 p.m. They had non-lethal gunshot wounds to the face and head.

Officers were then called to the 2000 block of East 25th Street, where three women and a man had each been shot once. None of the wounds were considered life-threatening. The three women were taken to a nearby hospital. The man refused treatment.

The seventh victim arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound. His condition was not immediately available.

It's not clear if any of the victims were bystanders.
