Replacements for two North Carolina lawmakers who resigned last month have been seated at the General Assembly. All 170 General Assembly seats will now be filled when McCrory delivers his State of the State address Wednesday evening.
The Rev. Paul Lowe of Winston-Salem was welcomed to the Senate on Tuesday afternoon, less than a week after Forsyth County Democrats chose him to fill the two-year term of ex-Sen. Earline Parmon, who is now working for new U.S. Rep. Alma Adams.
Later Tuesday, the House seated George Robinson of Cedar Rock, after Caldwell County Republicans chose him. He succeeds Rep. Edgar Starnes, now working for State Treasurer Janet Cowell. Robinson served several House terms in the 1980s and 1990s.
Gov. Pat McCrory appointed Lowe and Robinson, in keeping with state law.
