UNC School of the Arts alumnus Jack Mitchener is one of today's leaders in the field of American organ pedagogy and performance.

In fact, The American Organist magazine—the most widely read journal devoted to organ and choral music in the world—writes: “Mitchener brings music to life with his supple rhythmic control, clear phrasing, energy, and sensitivity”. Who better then to inaugurate the newly restored 1898 American Hook & Hastings organ at St. Timothy's Church?

Jack's newest recording, Romantic to Modern, was released in October 2014 on the Raven/Albany label. The official 1898 American Hook & Hastings organ dedication concert is Sunday, February 8th at 4:00 PM at St. Timothy's Church in Winston-Salem.
