North Carolina A&T has canceled the final three days of its end-of-year celebration. The 2016 Aggie Fest has been marred by several on-campus incidents.

On Thursdsay, Vice Chancellor Melody Pierce wrote to students saying the festival was suspended after several incidents she believed were “a threat to the safety of students and the campus community.”

Aggie Fest is an annual week-long series of school-sponsored activities for students.

The News and Record reports a number of people who aren't A&T students showed up following an event Tuesday night, and the campus was notified of reports of gunfire.

There was also an alleged on-campus assault.

Canceled events include an ice cream social and a Saturday afternoon block party.

A&T's spring intra-squad football game will be played as scheduled Saturday afternoon.
