The fast-growing Latino population in the U.S. has received a lot of press lately, but what about the many cultural impacts on our state and here in the Triad?

The Hispanic Arts Initiative in Winston-Salem is doing its part in making Latino arts and culture come alive.  The Initiative, which began in 2003, is bringing educational Latino dance and music programs to more than 5,000 area students.  They're also collaborating with some of our state's greatest arts institutions in all area of the arts, including visual arts. This past year, the HAI presented the exhibit Punto de Vista - Latino Perspectives featuring works by more than a dozen North Carolina Latino artists.  Hispanic Arts Initiative Executive Director Maria Sanchez-Boudy spoke with David Ford.
