Internationally acclaimed American conductor Leonard Slatkin currently serves as the Music Director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra as well as music Director of the Orchestre National de Lyon in France.  He has led many of the world's leading orchestras, and of his over 100 recordings, 7 have won Grammy's and 64 have received nominations. Leonard Slatkin's new book is titled Conducting Business, Unveiling the Mystery behind the Maestro. He spoke with David Ford about encouraging young artists, unique musical residencies, and recording performances.
