NAXOS recording artist, 22 year old cellist Julian Schwarz made his orchestral debut at the age of 11 playing the Saint-Saens Concerto with the Seattle Symphony led by his father Gerard Schwarz. Maestro Schwarz just also happens to be the Music Director of Greensboro's Eastern Music Festival which concluded last month. In September PBS television will air Julian performing the Cello Concerto of Samuel Jones. The work was premiered by Julian in 2010, and recorded two years later with the All Star Orchestra for the NAXOS label under the baton of his father.  That performance will soon be issued on DVD by NAXOS. David Ford began by asking Julian about that experience. He spoke with David by phone from his home in New York.
