The Blues may be where Lightnin' Charlie's heart truly lies, but the multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter is extremely versatile.  Lightnin's musical roots run deep, and his exceptional musicianship allows him to perform 60s soul, 50's rock ‘n' roll, and rhythm and blues and make each style all his own.

In today's show we sample Lightnin' Charlie and the Upsetters covering Marie Marie by the Blasters.

Lightnin' Charlie and the Upsetters return to the Triad Saturday, September 6th from 5:45 pm – 7:15 pm during Greensboro's East West BBQ Fest, 200 N. Davie St. The band won the Piedmont Blues Preservation Society Blues Contest, Ricky Skaggs says “They don't sound good…they sound GREAT!”, and Marquee Magazine readers have voted Lightnin' Charlie and the Upsetters “Favorite Musician or Group” in the Mountain South for several years in a row.
