Jens Kruger, Joel Landsberg, and Uwe Kruger.

If you live in North Carolina and love music, chances are you’ve already heard of The Kruger Brothers.

Swiss/German Banjo player Jens, and his brother guitarist, vocalist Uwe Kruger, and their good friend and colleague bassist Joel Landsberg have been sharing their unique brand of instrumental and vocal music with audiences around the world for decades (Jens is also the 2013 recipient of the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass Music). They’ll be performing at MerleFest 2015 which kicks off this Thursday.

The Kruger Brothers will be performing Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Merlefest in Wilkesboro, NC. This year the festival, established in memory of Doc Watson’s son Merle, will feature nearly 120 bands on 13 stages, performing some of the best traditional music in the world today on the Wilkesboro Community College campus.

The Kruger Brothers often perform Bluegrass, and Bluegrass-inspired music, and over the years they’ve been welcomed into that world by many of the legendary performers of traditional Appalachian music, including Doc Watson.
