Country music legend Kathy Mattea is coming to Winston-Salem this weekend. She's playing at the Stevens Center downtown on Saturday night.

The Grammy Award-winner has been releasing albums since the late 80s with hits like “Eighteen Wheels and A Dozen Roses,” and “Where've You Been.”

When her latest LP, Pretty Bird, came out last year, it was her first release in six years.

That's because at some point Mattea's voice had become something she didn't recognize and singing no longer felt right to her. WFDD's Eddie Garcia spoke with Mattea about finding her voice again, and the advice she received from another music legend.
