Josh Groban will make a Triad appearance in May. It'll be a different kind of stage for Groban, a Grammy-Award nominee and one of the country's top contemporary entertainers.

Groban will be the speaker at High Point University's commencement address. The May 5 ceremony is private, open to graduates and their families. But the university says it will livestream Groban's speech.

Groban is best-known as a singer, songwriter and actor. He has sold more than 25 million records worldwide and appeared in such movies as “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” “Coffee Town” and “Muppets Most Wanted.”

He's the latest star to headline High Point's big day. Past speakers in recent years have included CNN's Wolf Blitzer, former Secretary of States Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell, and former First Lady Laura Bush.
