Winston-Salem-based rock n roll singer/guitarist Clay Howard's new CD of original music is titled Who the Hell is Clay Howard? Its an album of classic rock inspired tunes that was created in collaboration with Minneapolis musician/producer Brynn Arens. The album is available on Amazon.com where it has been ranking high on the Hot New Releases charts. You can catch Clay Howard opening up for Smash Mouth at Ziggy's in Winston-Salem later this summer on July 21st.

Letter From Home

The live performance duo Letters from Home honors veterans, active military and their families across the country by paying tribute to the music and spirit of the 1940s. Their new album is “Thanks for the Memories.” Creator and choreographer Erinn Diaz is a national tap dance champion who's toured with Cirque productions. She's joined by Letters from Home Musical Director Serah Haley.

 You can catch them in performance Friday, May 29th at 1pm during the Second Spring Arts Festival. The free event will be in Hanesbrands Theatre in Winston-Salem. On Saturday, May 30th at 1:30pm Letters from Home will perform at the Surry Arts Council Blackmon Amphitheater hosted by Surry County Veterans . The event is from 10-4.

NC Brass Band

The NC Brass Band is celebrating the Memorial Day holiday with a series of patriotic concerts throughout Central NC. Their recent CD First In Flight has received high praise from international music journals, and they're getting ready to launch the NC Youth Brass Band program in the fall. On May 22nd at 7:30 the NC Brass Band will be at Ardmore Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. Music Director and euphonium player Brian Meixner spoke with David Ford.
