Incidences of hazing happen all the time, but the problem can be difficult to gauge because many involved practice a strict code of silence.

Hazing happens in frats, on sports teams and in social clubs on college and university campuses. Currently, a family is planning a lawsuit against High Point University in connection with the alleged hazing death of their 22 year old son who was pledging a fraternity. But hazing also happens in middle and high schools.

This is National Hazing Prevention Week and WFDD's Kathryn Mobley spoke to a psychologist who has been nationally researching and speaking out against hazing for more than 10 years. Dr. Susan Lipkins says many people and organizations bear some responsibility in changing the hazing culture and she emphasizes the victims are not at fault.
