In 2001, Ismael Khatibu was living in Winston-Salem and nurturing his poetic voice. He is an award-winning poet and a published cultural studies author. Since the 911 terrorist attack in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania, he’s reflected on the power of a group’s core principles.
